The EPHS Student Council is working on homecoming plans and would like to share them with you!  Homecoming will take place on Friday, October 5, when the Eagles take on the Portageville Bulldogs at 7 PM.  The theme for this year’s homecoming is “Eagles Save the Day,” where superheroes will be incorporated into the celebration of our community, school, and football team.  Floats and spirit days will be centered around this theme, as well as the homecoming t-shirts.  Shirts can be ordered by contacting Ashley Johnson at the high school (649-3564) or Ashley.johnson@eastprairie.org, or by completing an order form sent home with students at school and found at local businesses.  From the t-shirt sales, Student Council is going to donate $1 from each shirt to Special Olympics.

The PowderPuff Contest will take place at approximately 12:45 PM on Friday, October 5, during school.  There will be a pep assembly immediately prior to the Powder Puff games, and schools will dismiss at 2:00 that afternoon.  The parade will be held at 4:00, with line-up beginning at 3:00 behind Doyle School.  Coronation will begin at 6:20, with the big game at 7:00.  The dance will follow the game.  The crowning of the king will take place at the dance at approximately 10:30.

PARADE LINE UP DETAILS

Line-up for parade entries will begin at 3:00 PM behind Doyle school.

Cars carrying royalty (attendants, king and queen candidates, and youth pageant winners) riding in the parade should line up on Garfield Street, directly behind Doyle school.  Enter by way of the turn in front of Casey’s General Store.  Only cars riding in the parade will be allowed to come down this street after 3:00.

Trucks and walking entries should line up on Garfield Street, south of Elm Street, behind the Church of God.  Please come down this road by way of Pine Street, by the Post Office.  Only vehicles riding in the parade will be allowed down this street after 3:00.

Floats and other larger entries, such as midget league football teams, should line up on Elm Street, between the other two groups.  Please enter by way of Kirkendall Street.  Only parade vehicles will be allowed down this street after 3:00.

Since these streets will be closed off after 3:00 for parade vehicles, please drop off children riding in the parade by way of Kirkendall street.  This will save a great deal of confusion.  There is no need to pre-register parade entries.  Everyone is welcome to show up in the line-up on the day of the parade!  Thank you!
